The Women's Ministry at Council Road Baptist Church has embraced the theme “Connecting the Dots” for 2024. Last year we focused on the importance of orthodoxy and that overflowing into orthopraxy. This theme reminds us to lift our eyes and recognize the ways God is moving in our church, our city, and beyond through us. One recent event, Sundaes on Monday, gave us a sweet opportunity—both figuratively and literally—to celebrate how God is working at CRBC and in Oklahoma City. As a church with a deeply rooted mission mindset, we love to pause and reflect on the stories unfolding before us. Here are two that stand out.
A Group For Everyone
September is Groups Month! Group life is an essential part of CRBC. As a church, we take an entire month to showcase the diversity we have in Connection Classes and Small Groups. An entire month should make us pause and wonder, why does CRBC care so much about this topic? Scripture has something to say about it!
Summer Book Clubs
Summertime! School is out! Camps! Pool parties! Vacations! But the flip side of all this fun? Your rhythms of friendship and community are disrupted. Whether you need a change from your school year commitments or need an on-ramp to community, Book Clubs are a great opportunity in the intermediate months full of sun.
Five Aspects of Woman: A Biblical Theology of Femininity
Have you ever read a book that has shaped your life profoundly? I have been challenged this year to reread some of the books that were most impactful on my life. Five Aspects of Woman by Barbara Mouser brought the timelessness of Scripture to my evolving circumstances. When I first read this book ten years ago, I was a Junior in college engaged to be married. Today, I am a married mom of three young children headed into the school aged years. The femininity framework this study provides bolsters my confidence to pursue God in every season because society is asking…the church is asking…I am asking, What is the role of women? Why should I care?
